The National Council on Strength & Fitness has partnered with hundreds of colleges and universities to offer a comprehensive personal trainer certification program. This academic partnership provides professional development as well as the necessary theoretical and practical competencies required of a qualified personal trainer. Students receive hands-on experience in training instruction and professional skill development to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Each content domain covered on the national certification exam is supported by learn-by-doing activities and teaching strategies so students may successfully challenge the NCSF-CPT exam upon completion of the program.
The Certified Personal Trainer College Program is designed as a for-credit academic model. It is intended for individuals who are engaged in coursework and/or are pursuing a degree in a movement science discipline. Although many schools require the program as part of a degree others offer it as part of their elective coursework. The program admission requirements are set by the respective college or university and institution registration or course enrollment is conducted through the school’s registrar or office of admissions.
