The National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF) is pleased to announce that the organization’s printing practices have become process certified and Eco Green certified.
These prestigious distinctions ensure that the printing of the organization’s educational, certification, and administrative materials meet the rigorous standards set forth
by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
The NCSF is now part of the Environmental Chain of Custody ensuring its papers, inks and print processes meet the most stringent environmental standards.
About the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. With offices in 46 countries the organization provides standard setting,
trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry.
Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
About the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
SFI Inc. is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. SFI Inc. works with conservation groups, local communities, resource professionals, landowners, and
countless other organizations and individuals who take part in responsible forest management. The SFI Board of Directors represent environmental, social and economic interests equally, and address local needs
through a unique grassroots network of SFI Implementation Committees.
The SFI Forest Certification Standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. This is especially important because of the growing demand for green building and responsible paper purchasing at a time when only 10 percent of the world’s forests are certified.
About the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC)
The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent,
third party certification. The organization serves as a global umbrella for the assessment of and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes developed in a multi-stakeholder process. These national schemes
build upon the inter-governmental processes for the promotion of sustainable forest management, a series of on-going mechanisms supported by 149 governments in the world, covering 85% of the world's forest area.
